As the glorious weather seems to be leaving us, the rain did hold off and the cornucopia of try scoring continued from last weekend on all three boys divisions at home this past Sunday.
The u14s continue to display their enthusiasm for the game and improve each week. We leant them players, so it was officially a default and i was busy getting the hotdog station prepped, only watching from afar. I did notice that most of the opposition scoring happened with players wearing Salish shorts! The kids are having a blast learning the game and it shows on the field. Big test is next week when we host CW at Shawnigan and see if we can narrow the gap.
Our undefeated u16 boys rolled to the biggest score of the day, scoring 87 points to 5 in a dominant effort. The whole team looked very poised and both Harry Pearse and Sam Brown led the charge though there were multiple scorers. We did lend them some players so the default score of 20/0 was applied, like the u14s. These guys were the only winners at Windsor some weeks back and you know CW will be looking for revenge, so come on down and cheer these guys on.
Rapids did show with a full u18 team but they were no match for our top boys squad. Lot’s of try scorers, Tuma, Hudson, Peter, Hluma, Leo, Taiki and Robert crossed the line and Rheo assisted Hluma with kicking duties. They did manage a try late in the second half but it was a moot point with a 55 score in the books. Again, next week is a game circled on the calendar from the beginning of the season and will dictate who gets home field advantage for the playoffs.
Hope to see you at the games!
